My name is Mr. Ricard. I will be your child’s Math teacher this year. I have taught mathematics for 13 years.
I am a graduate of Oakland University and Saginaw Valley State University holding a Bachelor in Education and Masters in Educational Leadership respectively. I’ve also earned an Accounting degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1993.

I am highly enthusiastic and love working with children, in particular teenagers. These children, being our future, deserve the best education possible and I hope that with a mutual effort we can make this a great year for them. I believe in trust, honesty and hard work. The following are classroom expectations. They have been communicated to your child.
Classroom Expectations
1. When a person is speaking, your not!
2. Respect other’s feelings & property.
3. Clean up after yourself.
4. Calculators are treated with care!
5. Homework is turned in on time, done at home, completed by yourself
If you chose to break a rule: ***
First / Second Time: Verbal Warning ; call home
Third Time: Serve a 30 min. detention with a call home.
More than Three: Referral to office/ Call home
Severe Disruptions: Student immediately sent to office and parents contacted.
The classroom is a place for learning. Disruptions will not be tolerated!
Rewards:Praise (Daily); Positive notes/phone calls/e-mails home (randomly); Classroom treats (randomly) (did I mention I like food/sweets?); Various other positive perks / picnics / field trips (throughout the school year); The JOY of learning (each day of the school year)
